Sushmita Sen, India s first Miss Universe in 1994 and as well Bollywood actress, wants to play role of Lakshmi Bai, The great heroine of the First war of India Freedom in her career life… Miss Sen is too impressed with Rani lakshmi Bai and wants to portray the character of a legendary Indian Queen Lakshmi Bai in the reeled life with herself.Jhansi, of which she was the queen, was in the grip of the sneakiness, mean British. She was the personification of patriotism, heroism and self-respect. She was the queen of a small state, but the empress of an immeasurable kingdom of splendor.
Sushmita, 31, told the Mumbai Mirror newspaper it had always been her reverie to play the soldier queen.
“Every actor has a dream role. Mine is Jhansi,” said Sen, who is in conversation with scriptwriters on the scheme. “This is my chance to play the one historical character that I most closely empathize with.”
Miss Sen wants to make movie herself because according to her, she has a clear vision towards how to portray Lakshmibai. She would sign up a director within one or two months, and is probable to start shooting later this year.
“I’ve always wanted to play Jhansi Ki Rani (Jhansi s Queen). And I don t see my vision being translated to screen by any other producer,” she said. “This will upset me no end.” Via
